# Connect Google Calendar

Nobody books you when you already have something on Google, and every booking shows up on its own in your calendar. From the Starter plan.

Connect your Google account in **Bookings → Availability** and SocialMaker works both ways:

- **It sees when you’re busy**: if something is on your Google Calendar, that time isn’t offered on your booking page. We only see the times, never your event titles or details.
- **It adds your bookings**: every new booking shows up on its own in a calendar called **SocialMaker** inside your Google Calendar, with the service, the client’s name and their details. If the booking changes or is canceled, it updates there too.

## Step by step

1. Open Bookings → Availability and tap “Connect Google Calendar”
2. Choose your Google account and allow access · Google asks for two permissions: to see when you’re busy (you can’t connect without it) and to create the “SocialMaker” calendar for your bookings. Leave both checked.
3. Choose which calendars to check · Under **Check if I'm busy in**, your main calendar is already checked. Check any others you want, like your work or family calendar: if something is on any of them, that time can’t be booked.
4. Leave “Add my appointments to Google Calendar” on · From then on, every new booking, change or cancellation shows up in the “SocialMaker” calendar.

## Good to know

- Something you add on Google can take **a couple of minutes** to show up in SocialMaker. When someone confirms a booking we check your calendar again, so nobody can take a time you already filled.
- Only events set to **Busy** on Google count. If an event is set to **Free** (common with all-day events, like a birthday), it doesn’t block anything. To close off a vacation, set it to Busy on Google or block those days in SocialMaker.
- In **Your calendar** (Bookings → Availability) you see Google busy times in blue, next to your bookings and blocked times.
- If you add a booking yourself at a time that’s busy on Google, we warn you and you can tap **Book anyway**.
- Your clients don’t get a Google invitation: they still get our email with the booking for their calendar.

## If you have two businesses

With two link in bio pages (Max plan), each calendar connects separately, with the same Google account or a different one. Bookings for the second business go into a “SocialMaker · business name” calendar.

## Disconnect

Tap **Disconnect** on the same card. Bookings already on your Google Calendar stay there; from then on, SocialMaker stops seeing your calendar and adding bookings.

**Good to know**

Google Calendar is available from the **Starter** plan. If your plan stops including it, the connection is paused until you have it again.
