How to connect Claude to Instagram: the 5 ways that exist and what each one does

Claude can't get into your Instagram on its own: it needs a connector. We compare the 5 ways to connect it, what each one does and what it costs.

An American content creator in her late twenties, with copper red hair and freckles, in a cobalt blue sweater, smiles at her phone next to her laptop, sitting in front of a mustard yellow wall with a small framed print on a shelf.

If you already use Claude to write your captions or your reel scripts, you've probably wondered what everyone wonders: what if, instead of giving me the text, it did it right in my Instagram? It can, but not in just one way, and they don't all do the same thing.

Claude doesn't get into your account by itself: it needs a tool that connects to your Instagram, which Claude calls a connector. There are several today, and each one gives Claude different hands: some only read your numbers, some schedule posts and some answer messages. Here we compare the five that come up most when you search how to connect Claude to Instagram, what each one does and which one fits what you need.

The short answer: what each one does

Before you choose: what "connecting Claude to Instagram" means

Claude works with the apps you connect to it. You add them under Customize → Connectors, on claude.ai or the desktop app, and then you can also use them in the mobile app. It works on every Claude plan, including the free one, which lets you add one custom connector (Claude help).

In tech terms, these connectors are called MCP servers, which is why you'll see "Instagram MCP" on some tools. One thing worth knowing: at the time of writing, we found no Instagram connector made by Meta or by Anthropic. Every option comes from another company, which gets into your account with the permission you give it.

1. SocialMaker: Claude creates your automations, publishes and builds your link in bio and your bookings

This is the one we built, so we know it inside out. With the SocialMaker connector, Claude does in your account what you'd do in the Studio, but with one sentence: it creates, edits and turns on your Instagram and Facebook auto-replies, schedules and publishes your posts, designs your link in bio and your carousels, and sets up your bookings, menus and catalogs. Before it turns anything on or publishes, it shows it to you in the same chat and waits for your yes.

Animation: the Claude app with SocialMaker connected. You tell it you posted a reel, forgot the automation and people are already commenting. Claude uses SocialMaker and creates the automation on your latest reel: it replies to any comment, sends your link by DM and adds FAQ buttons. It leaves it off and asks whether to turn it on; you say yes and it's live.

This is how it looks in the Claude app: you ask for the automation in your own words, Claude creates it in your SocialMaker and turns it on when you say yes.

Copy one of these requests and swap in your own details:

  • Prompt for ClaudeAutomation
When someone comments PRICE on my latest reel, send them my catalog by DM
  • Prompt for ClaudePublishing
Design a 5-slide carousel about my 3 most requested services and schedule it for Thursday at 6 pm Miami time
  • Prompt for ClaudeBookings
Create my "Trial class" service, 30 minutes, and open times Monday to Friday from 4 to 8 pm Chicago time
  • Prompt for ClaudeLink in bio
Add a "Book your class" button to my link in bio that goes to my bookings

It's on the Pro ($24 a month) and Max ($39) plans. If you've never paid for a plan, you can try Pro free for 30 days: you add your card and, if you cancel before the 30 days are up, you aren't charged anything.

2. Metricool: schedule posts and see your stats

Metricool is a tool for scheduling and measuring social media, and you add its connector from Claude's connector directory. With it, Claude can see your scheduled posts, create and edit others, tell you the best time to post and check your stats (Metricool help).

What it doesn't do, according to its own help: inbox messages, comments and bio links aren't available from Claude. It works if what you want is to plan your calendar and look at numbers. If you also want Claude to answer the people who comment or message you, you need another tool.

3. DMdaddy: message automations

DMdaddy is an Instagram auto-DM tool, and in July 2026 it launched its connector for Claude and ChatGPT (DMdaddy). With it, Claude can see your posts, create keyword automations, build multi-step flows and send messages.

You add it as a custom connector in Claude, with an address you copy from your dashboard. Going by the list of features it publishes, it doesn't schedule posts or build link in bio pages or bookings: it's for messages only.

4. PostFast: schedule posts and reply to comments

PostFast is a content scheduling tool, and its connector appears in Claude's directory as a community connector. Claude can prepare posts, carousels, reels and stories, which stay on hold until you approve them, and reply to, hide or delete comments when you ask (PostFast).

It doesn't read your message inbox or run automations: Claude does what you ask in the moment, and nothing keeps working on its own.

5. Porter Metrics: your numbers for reports

Porter Metrics connects your Instagram data, and data from other platforms, so Claude can build reports and analysis. Its tools are read-only: Claude looks, but it doesn't publish, reply or change anything in your account (Porter Metrics). It's useful if you work with several clients and spend your days on reports; to have Claude act in your account, it's not the tool.

A Venezuelan online English teacher in her late twenties, with dark curly hair and green eyes, headphones around her neck and a mustard sweater, laughs as she types on her phone in front of a muted teal wall with a shelf and a trailing plant.
An English teacher doesn't need reports: she needs whoever asks about the trial class to get the link right away and be able to book it.

Other options you'll come across

  • InstantDM also has a connector: Claude can publish, reply to comments and send messages, but not create new automations (it can only start the ones you already have), each send uses a credit, and you connect it with a key that goes inside the address. It's on its $29.99-a-month plan ($24.99 a month paid yearly) (InstantDM).
  • Composio is a developer platform with Instagram tools for publishing, comments and messages. It's powerful, but it's built for people who code (Composio).
  • Windsor.ai brings data from many platforms together for analysis; from Claude, it's mostly about reading numbers (Windsor.ai).
  • ManyChat, as of today, has no connector of its own for Claude to manage your automations: its Claude integration works the other way around, with your ManyChat automations sending questions to Claude (ManyChat help).

Which one is right for you?

  • You want Claude to build your automations, publish, and set up your link in bio and your bookings, all in the same chat: SocialMaker. It's the only one that brings it all together.
  • You only want automated messages: SocialMaker or DMdaddy. With SocialMaker, the same chat also builds the page you send people to (your link in bio) and your calendar, so the message ends in a sale or an appointment.
  • You only want to schedule posts: any of the ones that publish will do (SocialMaker, Metricool or PostFast). With SocialMaker, the post and the automation for its comments come out of the same request.
  • You only need reports with your numbers: a data connector is enough. To have Claude do things in your account, you need one that acts.
A Mexican American real estate agent in his early thirties, in a beige blazer and white t-shirt, smiles as he reads his phone, sitting on the edge of a desk in front of a terracotta wall with a framed sketch of a modern house leaning against it.
A real estate agent needs whoever comments HOUSE to get the tour and a time to see it: automating and booking in the same place.

How to connect Claude to your Instagram with SocialMaker

  1. Connect your Instagram to SocialMaker

Create your account and connect your Instagram through Instagram's official window: we never ask for your password. You need a professional account (business or creator).

  2. In Claude, go to Customize → Connectors

On claude.ai or the desktop app. Tap + Add and choose Add custom connector.

  3. Paste the address

Name: SocialMaker. Address: https://socialmaker.ai/mcp. Keep the recommended sign-in option.

  4. Choose what it can do

SocialMaker opens and you choose, area by area, whether Claude can view and edit, view only, or nothing. For it to publish, turn on Schedule and publish.

  5. Ask for what you need

Open a new chat, turn SocialMaker on under + → Connectors and ask in your own words.

You'll find every screen in the guide to connecting Claude, and 12 requests to copy in how to use Claude for Instagram.

Before you give any tool access, check this

  • That you sign in through Instagram's official window. Nobody should ask for your Instagram password.
  • That you can choose what it sees and what it changes. Ideally, you give permission in parts: messages yes, posts no, for example.
  • That it shows you before changing anything. With SocialMaker, Claude shows you the automation or the post and waits for your yes before turning it on or publishing it.
  • That you don't have to paste secret keys anywhere. If a tool asks you to put a secret key inside the connector's address, guard it like a password.
  • That it follows Instagram's rules. Instagram allows one private message per comment, within 7 days (Meta for Developers); a serious tool works within those rules so your account isn't put at risk.

Can you connect Claude to Instagram?

Yes, with a connector: a tool that connects to your account and lets Claude do things in it. You add it under Customize → Connectors in Claude. There are several options today and each does different things: with SocialMaker, Claude creates your automations, publishes and builds your link in bio and your bookings.

Can Claude post to my Instagram?

Yes, if you connect it to a tool that schedules or publishes, like SocialMaker. With SocialMaker, Claude shows you the post and the time, and schedules it when you say yes.

Can Claude answer my messages and comments?

It can set up your auto-replies: with SocialMaker, you say "when someone comments PRICE, send them my catalog" and it keeps working on its own, day and night, within Instagram's rules.

Do I need to pay for Claude?

No. Connectors work on every Claude plan; the free one lets you add one custom connector, which is enough for SocialMaker.

How much does it cost to connect Claude with SocialMaker?

The connector is on the Pro ($24 a month) and Max ($39) plans. If you've never had a paid plan, you can try Pro free for 30 days with your card: if you cancel before then, you aren't charged anything.

Does it work from my phone?

Yes. You add it once on claude.ai or the desktop app, and then you can also use it in the Claude app for iPhone and Android.

Is it safe?

With SocialMaker you sign in through Instagram's official window, never with your password, you choose what Claude can see and change in each area, and you can disconnect it whenever you want, from Claude or from your account.

Connecting Claude to Instagram isn't the hard part anymore: what matters is what Claude can do once it's connected. If you want it to stop handing you text and start leaving the work done, try SocialMaker and ask it for your first automation today.

Not ready to pay for a plan? You can build your first auto-reply without Claude, for free: follow the guide to automating Instagram for free.
