How to Connect Claude to Facebook: Post and Answer Comments and Messenger With One Sentence

Claude can't get into your Facebook Page on its own: it needs a connector. The options that exist, what each one does and how to get Messenger replying for you.

A Mexican hairstylist in his early thirties with a thin mustache, a silver hoop earring and a black apron over a white t-shirt laughs as he finishes styling the short copper curls of his client, a freckled young woman laughing in the salon chair, in front of a terracotta wall with a round mirror and plants.

Facebook is still where a lot of customers reach small businesses. 70% of US adults use it, and so do 70% of Hispanic adults (Pew Research). Across WhatsApp, Messenger and Instagram there are more than a billion active conversations with businesses every day (Meta). That's where the "price?" comments and the 11 p.m. Messenger questions land.

Claude can write you the perfect reply, but it can't get into your Page on its own: it needs a connector. At the time of writing, neither Meta nor Anthropic offers an official connector that lets Claude post to your Page, answer comments or reply in Messenger (Meta's official connectors cover ads and WhatsApp Business). For that, every option comes from another company, and they don't all do the same thing. Here's what each one does, how to connect it step by step and what to ask so your Page answers by itself.

The short answer: what each option does

Before you start: what you need

  • A Facebook Page, not your personal profile. Messenger automations only exist for Pages (Meta).
  • Admin access to that Page (Facebook calls it "Facebook access with full control") (Facebook Help).
  • A Claude account. Custom connectors work on every Claude plan, including Free, which lets you add one (Claude Help).
  • SocialMaker on Pro or Max, the plans that include the Claude connector. If you've never paid for a plan or used a trial, you can try Pro free for 30 days until December 31, 2026: you add your card and, if you cancel before it ends, you aren't charged.

Not ready to pay for a plan? Without Claude, the Free plan lets you keep one comment automation active, on Instagram or on your Facebook Page, and you set it up yourself in the Studio: follow the guide to automating Instagram for free or the one on Facebook auto-replies.

Step by step: connect Claude to your Facebook Page

  1. Connect your Page in SocialMaker

In the Studio, open Settings → Connections and choose Facebook. Meta's official window opens: sign in, pick your Page and accept the permissions. SocialMaker is a Meta Tech Provider and never asks for your password.

  2. Add the connector in Claude

On claude.ai or the desktop app, go to Customize → Connectors, tap + Add and choose Add custom connector. Name: SocialMaker. URL: https://socialmaker.ai/mcp.

  3. Give it permission

Tap Connect next to SocialMaker and choose what Claude can do in each area. For Facebook, the key one is Automations set to "View and edit". Schedule and publish and Posts start at "None": turn on the first one if you want it to post for you, and set Posts to "View only" if you'll ask for an automation on one specific post.

  4. Ask in a chat

Open a chat, turn on SocialMaker with the + button → Connectors and write what you want in your own words. What you connected on your computer also shows up in the mobile app.

What you can ask for (with prompts to copy)

Once it's connected, there's no dashboard to learn: you tell Claude what you want to happen on your Page and it sets it up in your SocialMaker account. Before turning on an automation or posting, it shows you what it's about to do and asks first.

Animation: the Claude app with SocialMaker connected. You ask it to reply publicly when someone comments PRICE on any post on your Facebook Page and to send them your prices in Messenger with a button to book. Claude uses SocialMaker and creates the automation on your Page, turned off; it asks if it should turn it on, you say yes and it's live.

This is how it looks in the Claude app: you ask for your Page's automation in your own words, Claude creates it in your SocialMaker and turns it on when you say yes.

Copy one of these prompts, swap in your details and paste it into the Claude chat:

  • Prompt for ClaudePrices in Messenger
When someone comments PRICE on any post on my Facebook Page, reply publicly with different phrases and send them my price list in Messenger with a button to my booking page
  • Prompt for ClaudeMessenger greeting
When someone messages me for the first time on Messenger, greet them and give them three buttons: Prices, Hours and Book an appointment
  • Prompt for ClaudeYour next post
On my next Facebook post, send anyone who comments MENU the link to my digital menu in Messenger
  • Prompt for ClaudePost on your Page
Schedule these 3 photos from my library on my Facebook Page for Saturday at 10 a.m. Central time, with a short caption that invites people to book
  • Prompt for ClaudeFacebook and Instagram at once
Design a carousel with my 3 most popular services and post it on Facebook and Instagram tomorrow at 7 p.m. Eastern time

With SocialMaker, Claude uses the same auto-replies you'd set up yourself in the Studio, and it can schedule your posts on your Page and, if you also connected your Instagram, on both at once. For more ideas, see our guide on how to use Claude for Instagram.

What your customer sees

On the other side, nobody sees Claude or SocialMaker: they see your Page answering right away. Whoever comments gets a public reply (several phrases that rotate at random, so it doesn't look copied) and a private Messenger message with a button: when they tap it, they get your prices, your booking calendar or your digital menu.

People don't have to type the word on its own. If your word is PRICE, the automation also answers "price for a cut and color?" or "price pls": it looks for the word inside the sentence, whatever the capitals or accents. Pick words that won't show up by accident in other sentences.

What Claude can do on your Facebook with SocialMaker

  • Create, edit, turn on and turn off comment automations on all your posts, only new ones, the next one you publish or one specific post.
  • Reply in Messenger by keyword and greet people who message you for the first time, with buttons so they can pick what they need.
  • Send in Messenger, when the person taps the button, a link, your booking calendar, your menu or catalog, products from your link in bio or your WhatsApp.
  • Post or schedule photos, videos, carousels and stories on your Page, and on Instagram at the same time if you connected your Instagram with its own button in Settings → Connections.
  • See your posts (if you give it that permission) to set up the automation on exactly the one you want.

What it doesn't do (worth knowing)

  • It doesn't work with personal profiles or groups: Pages only.
  • Facebook has no story automations and no "do you follow us?" check; those are Instagram features.
  • It doesn't answer your inbox one conversation at a time: it creates the automations that reply with what you wrote.
  • Meta allows only one private message per comment, within 7 days of the comment (Meta). That's why the message has a button: if the person replies or taps it, the conversation keeps going.
  • It doesn't run ads: Meta has its own tools for that.
A Colombian esthetician in her early thirties with long black hair in a low ponytail and a lavender uniform smiles as she writes the next appointment in a paper planner at the reception desk of her facial spa, chatting with her client, a young woman with short blonde hair and a cream turtleneck who leans on the desk laughing.
An esthetician in Bogotá has no time to answer "price?" between facials. The automation does it for her and leaves the appointment ready.

The other ways to connect Claude to Facebook

If you need something else, these are the other options you'll find, with what each one says on its own page:

  • Metricool has its own connector for Claude: it posts right away or schedules posts, reels and stories on Facebook, even on its free plan (up to 20 posts a month). It doesn't touch the inbox, comments or messages (Metricool).
  • PostFast posts and schedules on your Page and replies to comments when you ask, with your approval. It doesn't do Messenger and doesn't work with personal profiles or groups (PostFast).
  • Blotato posts to Pages and, from Claude, builds comment-to-Messenger automations. It has no free plan, its trial doesn't include the connector and the $29 plan is capped at 1,000 active contacts a month (Blotato).
  • Zapier connects Claude to Messenger to send messages from your Page and to your posts, but you build the workflow yourself and each use from Claude costs 2 tasks from your plan (Zapier).
  • Porter Metrics reads your Facebook stats for reports. Its newer tools manage Meta ads and post to Instagram, Google and TikTok, but not to your Facebook Page or Messenger (Porter Metrics).
  • For developers there are platforms like Composio and open-source servers that post, reply and send messages, but you have to install and configure them yourself (Composio).

Meta also has its own agent for Messenger, though you don't use it from Claude. Meta Business Agent, announced on June 3, 2026, answers with AI on Messenger and WhatsApp (and Meta is adding Instagram), recommends products from your catalog and books appointments. More than a million businesses already use it, getting started is free and Meta says that in the coming months businesses will access it through paid subscriptions (Meta). The difference from an automation: the agent answers in its own words; the automation says exactly what you wrote.

On top of that, Meta Business Suite gives you a free Messenger instant reply and away message (Facebook Help on instant replies and on away messages) and, on a computer, a more basic automatic reply to comments. If you already use one of those greetings, don't also turn on SocialMaker's greeting: people would get two. We cover it in our guide to Facebook auto-replies.

A Venezuelan-American personal brand coach in his early thirties with long hair in a bun, a short beard and a rust-colored overshirt laughs while explaining something to two clients at a round table in a bright Miami coworking space: a young woman with long braids and a mustard sweater taking notes and a young man in a navy cap and round glasses.
A coach who sells sessions on Facebook can ask Claude to send anyone who comments INFO his availability and the button to book.

Which one is right for you?

  • If you want your Page to answer comments and Messenger by itself, and also post, build your link in bio and take bookings: SocialMaker.
  • If you only want to plan your content calendar from Claude: SocialMaker does that too; Metricool or PostFast, if you don't need your Page to answer by itself.
  • If you build reports for several clients: Porter Metrics.
  • If you want to build your own workflows: Zapier, no code; Composio or an open-source server, if you code.

Common mistakes when connecting Claude to Facebook

  • Connecting your personal profile instead of the Page. In Meta's window, choose the business Page.
  • Not having the right access. If someone else owns the Page, ask them for Facebook access with full control.
  • Using two tools on the same post. Meta allows one private message per comment: the second one fails.
  • Posting the same public reply every time. Ask Claude for several versions: it looks more natural and protects your Page.
  • Turning on two greetings at once (Meta's instant reply and SocialMaker's): people get two messages.
  • Having connected your Page before September 20, 2026. Reconnect it in Settings → Connections: Messenger permissions turn on when you reconnect.

Frequently asked questions

Can Claude get into my Facebook without a connector?

No. Claude only works with the apps you connect to it. Without a connector it can write the text for you, but it can't post or reply on your Page.

Is there an official Facebook connector for Claude?

Not for your Page. Meta has official connectors for Claude, but they're for ads and WhatsApp Business: none of them posts to your Page, answers comments or replies in Messenger. For that, every option comes from another company that accesses your Page with the permission you give it.

Does it work with my personal Facebook profile?

No. Comment and Messenger automations only work with Facebook Pages. If you sell from your profile, create a Page for your business.

Do I have to pay for Claude?

No. Custom connectors work on every Claude plan, including Free, which lets you add one. What you need is SocialMaker Pro or Max (if you've never paid for a plan, you can try Pro free for 30 days until December 31, 2026).

Does Claude answer every message for me?

Not one by one. Claude creates the automations, and from then on every comment or message with your word instantly gets the reply you approved. Conversations that need a person are still yours.

Does it work with Instagram too?

Yes. With the same connector, Claude creates comment, message and story automations on Instagram. We explain it in how to connect Claude to Instagram.

What about WhatsApp?

SocialMaker doesn't automate WhatsApp. What you can do is make the button in your Messenger message open your WhatsApp, so the conversation continues there.

Facebook is still where many customers ask you about prices and hours. Connecting Claude isn't about writing prettier replies: it's about nobody going unanswered. If you want to get started, check out SocialMaker's plans and connect your Page in five minutes.
