Meta's rules you should know

The 24-hour window, who you're allowed to message, and why some messages don't get sent.

SocialMaker uses the official Meta API and follows its rules. Knowing them saves you from surprises:

Who can an automation message?

Only someone who interacted with you first: they commented, messaged you, replied to your story, or mentioned you. Never strangers.

What's the 24-hour window?

After the person interacts, Meta allows you to message them for 24 hours. That's why follow-ups have to be sent within that window.

Why is “Automatic reply” added?

Meta's rules require letting people know the first message is automated. SocialMaker adds it at the end on its own.

Why does the first message have a button?

When the person taps the button, it officially opens the conversation, and SocialMaker can deliver the content and the follow-ups.

How many reply buttons can I add?

Up to 13 per message, with up to 20 characters each. That's Instagram's limit.

Is there a message limit?

Meta limits how many messages an account can send per hour. On high-traffic accounts, some replies might take a few minutes.

Do the templates follow these rules?

Yes. They all reply only to people who messaged or commented first, say that the first message is automated, never force a follow, and stop if the person writes “stop.”

Can Instagram block me?

Using the official API is the safe way to automate. Do avoid misleading messages or ones people didn't ask for, though: Meta can limit accounts that get a lot of reports.
